TJPD Commission – 6/7/18 Meeting Agenda

The TJPDC is guided by a locally appointed, twelve member Commission, of which at least 51% are local elected officials. Member localities include the City of Charlottesville and the Counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson. Commission meetings, which are open to the public, are held the first Thursday of each month at 7 pm in the TJPDC Office.

Daily Progress: As large developments loom, Fifeville tries to envision its own future

The city of Charlottesville is creating a housing strategy to encourage the construction of homes that are affordable to households with incomes ranging from extreme poverty to the middle class. To help inform the strategy, the group sponsored a free summit on the topic as part of this week’s Tom Tom Founders Festival in collaboration with the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission.

Legislative Update – May 24, 2018

The General Assembly returns to Richmond April 11, having been called into a special session by Governor Ralph Northam to address the state budget, approval of which eluded lawmakers during the regular session. This special session is set to begin one week prior to the General Assembly’s one-day reconvened (“veto”) session on April 18 to consider changes to bills approved by the legislature and sent to the governor for his consideration.
