Making our Community More Resilient to Natural Disasters

Are We Ready? Public Workshop
Monday, November 14, 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.

Floods, wind storms, winter storms, and wildfires. These natural events happen and can cause injuries, damage to property, and disruptions to businesses and community life. We can join together before the next disaster occurs to make plans to mitigate impacts. This highly interactive workshop will generate ideas to enhance our region’s ability to be prepared for effective emergency response and to bounce back after a natural hazard. The results will be used to update the Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan for the City of Charlottesville and Counties of Albemarle, Greene, Louisa, Fluvanna, and Nelson.

Everyone is invited to participate: Monday, November 14, 2016, 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. in TJPDC’s Water Street Center, 407 E. Water Street in Charlottesville.

TJPDC can stamp your parking stub for 2 hours of free parking in the Water Street Garage. The Water Street Center is located on the opposite side of Water Street and a block east of the east end of the garage, furthest from the entrance on 2nd Street.
