The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission will be applying for FFY18 Funding through USDA Rural Housing Service for the Housing Preservation Grant. If awarded, the grant will provide funding for emergency repairs, rehabilitation, and home safety modifications for very low income rural homeowners in Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson counties. TJPDC’s application is based on $119,745, which is half of the expected state allocation of $239,490. TJPDC expects to serve 41 very low-income households (estimate of 56 people) with the FFY18 grant, if awarded. A draft Statement of Activities is available here, with comments accepted until August 3. The application is due by August 9.
