Jesse Rutherford is a representative for Nelson County, where he serves on the Board of Supervisors, representing the East District.
Q: How long have you served in your current capacity and what inspired you to serve?
A: I am an elected BOS member from Nelson County and have served since January 2018. I was inspired to run for office and serve by watching my community I was born and raised in suffer from a lack of internet and opportunity.
Q: What TJPDC program/project excites you?
A: Legislative services that you all provide for us is 10/10. David is a huge asset. I also am greatly appreciative of the regional housing partnership! It is taking a hard conversation and putting pressure on our local governments to make change!

Q: What is a hobby or fun fact you’d like to share?
A: I enjoy hiking the various trails across the Blue Ridge.
