Tommy Barlow is a representative for Louisa County, where he serves on the Board of Supervisors, representing the Mountain Road district.
Q: How long have you served in your current capacity and what inspired you to serve?
A: I am an elected BOS member from Louisa County and have served on the TJPD Commission since January 2010. I was on the Louisa County Planning Commission for 16 years prior to being elected to the BOS for 14 years. I chose to serve to have involvement in the county I was born and raised.
Q: What TJPDC program/project excites you?
A: I support programs that benefit the region, but primarily those that directly relate to Louisa County. I especially appreciate David Blount’s efforts. He does a great job of keeping us informed on legislative issues and the impacts to all member counties.
Q: What is your field or work/career?
A: I am a licensed Land Surveyor and have been in the field since 1972.
Q: What is a hobby or fun fact you’d like to share?
A: I enjoy farming, horses, muscle cars and of course the TJPDC.
