October Commission Meeting Updates

The TJPD Commission met on October 3 and addressed the following topics:

  1. Blue Ridge Cigarette Tax Board six-month presentation/update
  2. Partnership for Accessible Transportation Help (PATH) presentation
  3. FY26 Draft Budget approved
  4. TJPDC Local Contributions–presentation of options for increasing funding for six agency programs that receive additional local dollars outside the per capita funding paid by each member locality; the Commission approved 1) converting local funding for these programs to per capita rates moving forward; 2) a recommendation that TJPDC request up to a 7% increase from the member localities for these programs for FY26; and 3) a recommendation to project local contributions every five years.
