Help Move Regional Housing Solutions Forward

This AmeriCorps VISTA position is a full-time, one-year service opportunity focused on strengthening affordable and workforce housing across Central Virginia. The VISTA will be placed with the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission (TJPDC) and will support the Central Virginia Regional Housing Partnership.

This is not a direct service role—it’s about building systems, tools, and partnerships that make long-term housing solutions possible.

What You’ll Work On

The VISTA will help turn regional housing strategy into practical tools and systems that local governments and partners can actually use. Key projects include:

• Building an affordable housing toolkit for local use
• Creating a centralized funding library for housing development and programs
• Developing a regional housing dashboard connecting housing and workforce data
• Supporting grant identification and application systems
• Leading communications and engagement efforts, including newsletters, reports, and events
• Assisting with planning and coordination of a Regional Housing Summit

You’ll work across sectors—local governments, employers, developers, and nonprofits—to strengthen coordination and expand regional resources.
