2024 Housing Preservation Grant Public Hearing and Comment Open

Regional Housing Plan

A draft Housing Preservation Grant Statement of Activities is currently available for public comment at the TJPDC website (click here).

The Thomas Jefferson HOME Consortium, administered by the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission, has received Housing Preservation Grant funds through USDA Rural Development since 2015. Last year, TJPDC was awarded $215,000 to conduct homeowner rehabilitation projects for low- to extremely low-income households in the eligible areas within the TJPD region.

For FFY 2024 funds, TJPDC is applying for $135,796, which is half of the allocation to the state of Virginia. In previous years, TJPDC and subrecipients have been able to provide extensive home repairs to 30-40 families.

The draft of the Statement of Activities, which describes HPG funded programming for the fiscal year October 1, 2024 – September 30, 2025, is available for your review. Public comment will be open until July 25, 2023.
