Joe Klodzinski, VATI Program Administrative Assistant
Joe joined the TJPDC in December 2024. Previously he has worked in a variety of city and county planning departments, and most recently as a Claims Administrator for a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Trustee.
Q: What led you to working at the TJPDC?
A: For a long time, I have been interested in finding a way to parlay my experience into work which would have a more direct, positive impact on underserved populations. I moved to southern Albemarle County 10 years ago, at a time when there was no reliable internet access. My first-hand experience with the economic and cultural disadvantages engendered by a lack of reliable internet is what most excited me about the possibilities of being involved with the VATI project.
Q: What is a fun fact that you would like to share?
A: I have been a guitarist / singer / songwriter since I was a teenager, and have written upwards of 200 songs. I am also very interested in natural building, particularly working with cob construction. In addition to assisting with cob workshops at the Cob Cottage Company in Coquille, Oregon, I spent a summer in 2012 helping a friend complete several cob structures on his property in Western Ireland.
