CDBG AND HOME DRAFT CAPER FOR FY2019-2020

AND PRIORITY SETTING FOR FY 2021-2022
The City and the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission (TJPDC) invite public comment on the Draft 2019-2020 Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report (CAPER). The CAPER is a required document describing the use of federal funds for housing and community development projects, to be submitted to HUD by September 29, 2020. The draft CAPER will be available for review and comment from September 4 – September 18, 2020 online at here , and at charlottesville.gov/678/CDBG-HOME-Programs. Copies will also be mailed upon request.
The City of Charlottesville is beginning to determine how to spend its federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships funding for FY 2021-2022. It is expected that Charlottesville will receive about $432,691 in CDBG funding in FY 2021-2022 to be used for activities that benefit low- and moderate-income persons. It is also expected that the City will receive $80,594 in HOME funds that are to be used to expand the supply of decent, safe, and affordable housing for low-and-moderate income persons.

City Council will hold a public hearing on September 21, 2020 at 7:00pm virtually over zoom. The TJPDC will have a public Commission meeting on September 3, 2020, where comments will be addressed.
