Regional Housing Plan

The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission invites all interested citizens to comment on the Draft 2023 Housing Preservation Grant application to USDA. The application describes how the participating jurisdiction intends to use funds to provide low- and very-low-income housing repairs. The draft is available at https://tjpdc.org/housing-preservation-grant or by contacting Laurie Jean Talun at 434-422-4080. The public comment period ends May 30th.

The USDA Rural Development Housing Preservation Grant allows the TJPD region to provide critical repairs to homes of low- and extremely low-income rural homeowners. With our subrecipients, Fluvanna Louisa Housing Foundation, NCCDF, AHIP, and Skyline CAP, we are able to serve 30-40 households per year through the HPG funding. Input regarding this year’s application will help inform administrators and subrecipients of the grant about community needs.
