The TJPD Commission met on May 1 and addressed the following topics:
- Ruth Emerick presented on the 2025-26 HOME- CDBG Annual Action Plan draft; following a public hearing, the Commission adopted a resolution approving the plan.
- Gorjan Gjorgjievski presented the Safe Streets and Roads for All draft plan; the Commission approved a resolution supporting a funding application for a supplemental vulnerable road user safety action plan.
- David Blount provided an update on the 2025 General Assembly session.
- The Commission adopted a resolution agreeing to TJPDC participation with all local governments and water authorities within the Middle James River 1 Regional Planning Unit and supporting a grant funding application to assist with developing a regional water supply plan.
- The Commission received a report from the Nominating Committee on recommended officers for FY26 (a vote on the slate will be held during the June 5 meeting).
- Christine Jacobs presented the FY26 Draft Operating Budget, which will be further reviewed and adopted at the June meeting.
