The TJPD Commission met on October 1, with the following items on the agenda:
- David Blount presented a six-month update on activities of the Blue Ridge Cigarette Tax Board, which is administered by the TJPDC, discussing tax revenue generated and allocated to member jurisdictions, as well as total packs sold by month and by jurisdiction.
- Igor Kalina gave an overview of the PATH Transportation Assistance Fund, including program goals, the impacts of a pilot “Twice is Nice” grant, new funding available for the program, and its eligibility guidelines.
- Taylor Lowery provided an overview of the Rural Long Range Transportation Planning process, to include an overview of the region, the transportation/housing connection, regional commuter patterns, and draft plan goals.
- The Commission approved the FY28 Projected Operating Budget and Local Revenue Requests.
- The Commission received an update on TJPDC’s participation in the Rural Health Transformation Program.
