The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission is in the final stages of wrapping up the Zion Crossroads Gateway Plan. The goal of this plan was to create a unified vision for the development of the Zion Crossroads growth area that could be shared between Louisa and Fluvanna Counties. The plan, partially funded through the Rural Transportation Program, had a strong emphasis on identifying needed transportation system improvements and was accompanied by a technical study completed by Kittelson & Associates, Inc. under contract with the Virginia Department of Transportation. Final recommendations from both studies have been posted to the TJPDC website where comments are being collected through November 4th. The finalized plans and public comments will be provided to Fluvanna and Louisa Counties to inform their decision-making around area and transportation planning.
