Notice of Public Comment Period: Regional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan

The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission (TJPDC) invites all interested citizens to comment on the Draft Regional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP). The HMP identifies goals, objectives and specific actions to help our communities prepare for natural disasters before they occur, in order to reduce loss of life and property damage. For additional information please visit our Hazard Mitigation webpage. Comments are accepted until June 30, 2022.

TJPDC Awards $1.8 Million for Development of 160 Affordable Housing Units

The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission (TJPDC) would like to announce the award of $1.8 million in grant funding from Virginia Housing to three affordable housing developers to include, the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority (CRHA), Habitat for Humanity (Great Charlottesville, Fluvanna, and Piedmont), and Virginia Supportive Housing (VSH). The 160 new affordable units will be developed across the planning district, to include units in the City of Charlottesville and the Counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson. The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission (TJPDC) seeks submissions from public, for-profit, and non-profit developers for projects that would increase the inventory of affordable housing in Region 10 through the development of new units. Successful applicants will be awarded funding from $2 million granted to the TJPDC from Virginia Housing as a part of a $40 million grant program to Virginia’s Planning District Commissions. Regional Transit Vision Plan Stakeholder Meeting

The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission and Regional Transit Partnership is hosting a stakeholder meeting for the Regional Transit Vision Plan for the Charlottesville Area. This meeting will take place from 9:00 am to 11:30 am on October 7th in place of the October 28th Regional Transit Partnership meeting.
