Hazard Mitigation Plan – 2018
TJPDC works with officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM), and local emergency managers to develop and maintain a regional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan. These plans are updated every 5-years and provide details on how our communities can take action to prepare for natural disasters before they strike, thus reducing the potential for loss of life and property damage when disasters do occur.
