    PATH recently participated in a variety of community activities focused on improving access to local transportation options and helping residents build confidence in using public transit services.PATH and Jaunt conducted hands-on travel training with the Fluvanna County High School Special Education program. PATH also participated in a Lunch and Learn for Fluvanna County residents as part of their bimonthly webinar series.     Rain Barrel Workshop Program

    So far this fiscal year, two successful rain barrel workshops were held across the region in partnership with our local Soil and Water Conservation Districts and the James River Association! Thirty participants from the City of Charlottesville and Fluvanna County learned how to assemble and install rain barrels at home and received a 55-gallon drum.Every time it rains, stormwater carries things such as fertilizers, pet waste, and chemicals from herbicides and pesticides to local waterways.     Weldon Cooper Center Releases 2025 Virginia Population Estimates

    Each year, the Weldon Cooper Center develops and releases official population estimates for Virginia localities, metropolitan and micropolitan areas, and planning district regions to show population counts between decennial censuses. These estimates provide the best approximation of the population count on July 1 of the prior year. State and local governments use this data for funding allocations, planning, and budgeting purposes.The July 1, 2025, population estimate for the TJPDC region was 274,339, which is 15,2191 residents, or 5.9% higher than the 2020 Census estimate.
