    Bennett Hipp, PATH Transportation AssistantBennett joined the TJPDC in January 2026 as the PATH Transportation Assistant. He graduated from the University of Mississippi with a degree in Journalism and minor in English. Prior to joining TJPDC, he worked for United Way of the Midlands in his hometown of Columbia, South Carolina. At UWM, he worked directly with folks who were either unhoused or at imminent risk of homelessness to get them into emergency shelters, stable housing, rehabilitation or connected to financial assistance programs to retain housing.     TJPDC Assists Louisa County with Town Hall Gatherings

    Louisa County partnered with TJPDC this winter to seek public input on the County's Comprehensive Plan Update. County staff developed an extensive survey to gather feedback from Louisa residents and property owners on land use and future growth patterns, transportation, economic development, use of tax revenue, schools, solid waste, and public safety.     BRACH Seeks Volunteers for 2026 Point in Time Count

    The Blue Ridge Area Coalition for the Homeless (BRACH) is seeking volunteers for the 2026 Point in Time Count. The count will take place on the night of January 28th and the morning of January 29th.The annual count occurs across the country during the fourth Wednesday of January and helps identify the size and scope of unsheltered homelessness in each community.Volunteers will receive training and sign up for specific locations and times.     Solid Waste Management Plan Community Workshop

    The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission (TJPDC) invites community members to join us for a virtual workshop to inform the region's five-year update to the Solid Waste Management Plan. This meeting will be held virtually on Zoom at 6pm on January 22nd.
