    Planning for Agricultural Toolkit

    American Farmland Trust (AFT) works nationwide, and in Virginia, to protect farmland, promote sound farming practices, and support farm economies. AFT and its partners are looking to advance a future for farming grounded in policy, partnerships, and community-based planning.A key effort is the Planning for Agriculture in Virginia initiative, designed to help local leaders protect farmland, boost farm viability, and encourage conservation-based practices. TJPDC Deputy Director David Blount has been serving on an advisory committee to the initiative. The toolkit is expected to be launched sometime this fall.

    Regional Housing Study Kicks Off

    We’re excited to launch the Regional Housing Study in partnership with the Virginia Center for Housing Research (VCHR) and HousingForward Virginia. This comprehensive effort will include a housing needs assessment, literature review, and future projections to help us better understand housing challenges across the region.
