    TJPDC Staff Continue the Learning Adventure

    It's been a busy start to FY2025 at TJPDC, with many opportunities for staff professional development. Staff participated in a field trip to Louisa and Fluvanna counties on October 10th. The first half of the day began with Louisa County Administrator, Christian Goodwin, and Economic Development Director, Andy Wade, where we toured Louisa County High School, Lake Anna, and the Zion Crossroads/Springcreek area.     PDC Development Grant Awards

    The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission (TJPDC) received Virginia Housing PDC Development Grant funds in FY2022 and awarded funds to several development partners. Earlier in 2024, funds in the amount of $660,000 became available for the award at this last stage of the project. Through an RFP process, we sought submissions from for-profit and non-profit developers for projects that would increase the inventory of affordable housing in the region through the development of new units using these funds.     PATH Partners with CAA, BRHD, and InnoVage to Help Older Adults Ride CAT

    The Partnership for Accessible Transportation Help (PATH) is a TJPDC Mobility Management program, designed to help improve and increase transportation options for older adults and other non-drivers. PATH works with transportation providers and helps elders find rides that meet their needs.Recently, as part of the Charlottesville Area Alliance’s (CAA) AARP Livable Community grant, PATH, the Blue Ridge Health District (BRHD), Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) and InnoVage staff worked together to host a group travel training event for seniors.
