    TJPDC will host a virtual public meeting on June 20th from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm as part of the Move Safely Blue Ridge initiative. Discussions will center around transportation safety in the region.Move Safely Blue Ridge focuses on strategies to reduce roadway-related fatalities and serious injuries in the City of Charlottesville and the Counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson. The Safety Action Plan is a part of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Discretionary Program and will center on safety improvements for multi-modal means…

    The TJPD Commission met on June 6 and addressed the following topics:The HOME Annual Action Plan Draft (Presentation, Public Hearing and Resolution Adopted);Smart Scale resolution for all projects in the region; andElection of TJPDC Officers for FY25: Tony O'Brien (Fluvanna) Chair; Michael Payne (Charlottesville) Vice Chair; Keith Smith (Fluvanna) Treasurer; and Christine Jacobs (TJPDC) Secretary.Materials for all TJPD Commission meetings are available here.The Commission does not meet in July; its next meeting will be on Thursday, August 1st.

    Public Comment Open for Moving Toward 2050 Draft Plan

    The Charlottesville-Albemarle Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is accepting comments on the draft Long Range Transportation Plan, Moving Toward 2050.  This is the federally-required long-range transportation plan (LRTP) for the City of Charlottesville and urbanized portions of Albemarle County, which are the area served by the CA-MPO.  This plan, which will be reviewed and adopted by the CA-MPO Policy Board, identifies long range transportation needs, considers possible infrastructure improvements, and establishes priorities to implement projects based on anticipated funding.The draft plan can be viewed here. The public is invited to a public…
