Zion Crossroads Gateway Plan

The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission is in the final stages of wrapping up the Zion Crossroads Gateway Plan. The goal of this plan was to create a unified vision for the development of the Zion Crossroads growth area that could be shared between Louisa and Fluvanna Counties. The plan, partially funded through the Rural Transportation Program, had a strong emphasis on identifying needed transportation system improvements and was accompanied by a technical study completed by Kittelson & Associates, Inc. under contract with the Virginia Department of Transportation. Stanardsville’s Streetscape Project

The grand finale of the Stanardsville's Streetscape Project came to a close on September 22nd with the unveiling of the new pedestrian bridge. The 42 foot steel bridge spans Mitchell Creek on the east side of town. The project is part of the multi-year Stanardsville Area Revitalization, STAR project.
