The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission (TJPDC) has officially signed a contract with the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), launching a $288 million fiber internet construction project that will provide access to affordable, reliable high speed fiber internet to more than 36,000 businesses and residences. Regional Transit Vision Plan Engagement

As the Regional Transit Vision Plan nears completion, the project team has been busy this summer with the public engagement phase of the study. TJPDC Transportation Planner, Lucinda Shannon, recently participated as part of a panel on “Developing Micro-Transit Service: Models in Charlottesville and Richmond” at the Virginia Transit Association’s Annual Conference. Lucinda presented the results of the Albemarle County Transit Expansion Study, which was funded by the Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) and Albemarle County.
