The Charlottesville-Albemarle Metropolitan Planning Organization (CA-MPO) is in the process of developing its long range transportation plan, Moving Toward 2050. Housing Preservation Grant is Open for Public Comment

The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission invites all interested citizens to comment on the Draft 2023 Housing Preservation Grant application to USDA. The application describes how the participating jurisdiction intends to use funds to provide low- and very-low-income housing repairs. The draft is available at https://tjpdc.org/housing-preservation-grant or by contacting Laurie Jean Talun at 434-422-4080. The public comment period ends May 30th. Firefly Celebrates 20,000 Rural Fiber Broadband Connections Across Central Virginia

TJPDC staff members attended Firefly Fiber Broadband’s recent celebration of reaching 20,000 rural fiber broadband connections across the Central Virginia Electric Cooperative (CVEC) service area. Firefly is partnering with TJPDC on a three-year, $288 million dollar fiber broadband expansion program to reach additional unserved locations in Central Virginia, building off the CVEC fiber buildout.
