The Central Virginia Regional Housing Partnership (CVRHP) is excited to announce the launch of our new Regional Housing Dashboard. TJPDC Receives $12.2 Million Broadband Expansion Grant

TJPDC will receive $12.2 million from a Virginia Telecommunication Initiative (VATI) grant to further expand high speed internet across Central Virgina. The TJPDC again partnered with Firefly Fiber Broadband to secure 2024 VATI funding through the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development. This funding will support a $48.6 million expansion to our current (VATI 2022) project with Firefly.The goal of the VATI 2024 project is to bring broadband at gigabit speeds to an additional 5,825 eligible locations in 10 of the counties included in our current VATI-supported project. 2024 Housing Preservation Grant Public Hearing and Comment Open

A draft Housing Preservation Grant Statement of Activities is currently available for public comment at the TJPDC website (click here).The Thomas Jefferson HOME Consortium, administered by the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission, has received Housing Preservation Grant funds through USDA Rural Development since 2015. Last year, TJPDC was awarded $215,000 to conduct homeowner rehabilitation projects for low- to extremely low-income households in the eligible areas within the TJPD region.For FFY 2024 funds, TJPDC is applying for $135,796, which is half of the allocation to the state of Virginia.
