    Gretchen Thomas, Administrative AssistantGretchen joined the TJPDC in March of 2011 as the Administrative Assistant, she is the often the first person people encounter at the PDC, whether on the phone or at the front desk. Through her role she provides support to all staff and programs, including minutes for meetings, support for events, coordinating meeting space requests, and general office needs.     Moving Toward 2050

    The Charlottesville-Albemarle Metropolitan Planning Organization (CA-MPO) is in the process of developing its long range transportation plan, Moving Toward 2050.  Moving Toward 2050, which will identify long range transportation needs, consider possible infrastructure improvements, and establish priorities to implement projects based on anticipated funding.This month, the CA-MPO is kicking off its public engagement with two public meeting opportunities and a public survey.  The purpose of the public meetings is to provide information to the public about the purpose and importance of the plan and share opportunities for the public to…

    Housing Preservation Grant is Open for Public Comment

    The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission invites all interested citizens to comment on the Draft 2023 Housing Preservation Grant application to USDA. The application describes how the participating jurisdiction intends to use funds to provide low- and very-low-income housing repairs. The draft is available at http://tjpdc.org/housing-preservation-grant or by contacting Laurie Jean Talun at 434-422-4080. The public comment period ends May 30th. The USDA Rural Development Housing Preservation Grant allows the TJPD region to provide critical repairs to homes of low- and extremely low-income rural homeowners.     May is Bike Month!This year, a coalition of nonprofits, local governments, and volunteers is organizing Charlottesville’s annual Bike to Work Week, from May 15-19.
